About me

I am a Psychotherapist/counsellor accredited with the Irish Association of Humanistic and Integrative Association which is a member of of the Irish Council of Psychotherapy (Irish equivalent of UKCP). I qualified in 2003 and undertook further training in child based therapies including play therapy, dyadic developmental psychotherapy, theraplay and sandplay. I have also been trained fully in EMDR which a specialised form of trauma training and I am a registered member of the UK EMDR association. I work with children, teenagers and adults. I have a mixed practice and welcome enquiries in relation to any matter causing distress or difficulty. If you are an adult seeking a change of direction in your life I am particularly interested in supporting you in understanding and making these changes. I am also interested in working alongside parents in relation to difficulties or worries they are having about their children as well as undertaking some direct work with children/ teenagers themselves. I have a soecialist interest in working therapeutically with children and carers from the looked after system. I also run workshops and groups on personal development / wellbeing issues. Currently I am training to become a clinical supervisor to other therapists. I am also a qualified social worker and have a long history of working with vulnerable children and young people from the care and criminal justice system and those suffering with mental health issues -, as well as working in the residential care system with these children I was a project manager of a specialist service for 7 years and additionally I worked in CAMHS and Barnardos In Belfast for approximately 7 years.
