You may have many friends and relations, but find it difficult to talk to them about your worries or concerns. If you are looking for someone whose sole relationship with you is to discuss issues causing you stress, or anxiety, or depression then counselling may help. I offer you the time and opportunity to talk about your issues, to help you consider your feelings, emotions and beliefs without prejudice and without being judgemental. My aim is to help you find a balance in your thoughts and actions that provides you with a more restful sense of being.
Each client is a unique person, so I adopt approaches that are suited to your needs. I work with people who may be terminally ill or have suffered a bereavement or loss, people with anxiety, stress, low moods or depression, low self esteem or self-confidence, as well as many other issues that might be helped by counselling. The central purpose of my approach is to help you find your own approaches and the resilience you need to help with the specific issues you have. I cannot give you “the” answers, only the support and tools to help you find your own way.
Many people may wonder whether counselling works. I believe that a lot depends on the relationship between the counsellor and the client so I will offer a free introductory half hour session to discuss what your issues are and whether you would feel comfortable about us working together.
