Profile

Hello. I am a trained counsellor who will offer you my support and experience, allowing you the time and space you need to find a way forward and understand yourself better.

We can all experience problems in life, difficulties felt within, in our relationships with others or the outside world. Uncertainty can contain thoughts of doubt about who we really are and what our future holds.

Does giving yourself or others a hard time get in the way of you feeling ok about yourself?

When our life is in difficulty we can face mixed emotions. Anger, grief, despair and anxiety can become too familiar, eating away at our confidence and affecting many areas in our life; no two people are the same but I think we can all relate to this on some level.

Counselling can offer an adaptable therapeutic intervention which will support you in finding your way forward, so that you can live a more fulfilled life.

Working together we would look at what you want to achieve and decide the number of sesssions dependent on the issues you bring.

Finding the right counsellor for you is important. My way of working is to offer support and guidance appropriate to your needs and agreed goals within the counselling sessions.

A bit more about me......

I am not local to the Lake District and settled here five years ago with my partner and two teenage sons. Moving such a long way from our roots in the South East of England brought its fair share of challenges; which has given invaluable insight to my work as a counsellor.

I began my training in 2007. I had felt the positive effects of counselling for myself and initially wanted to know more; to understand myself and others better. However I gained so much from the training and my own personal counselling that I decided to open my own practice.

As well as helping to run a busy home,  I also work as a volunteer for a mental health charity, run a school counselling service and manage my own private practice.

I would very much like to hear from you. If you have any questions or would like to book an initial consultation please contact me on 07561318577 or e-mail me at alisonjane7@gmail.com and I will get back to you.

Alison.
