Alison Chapman MBACP
I am an integrative counsellor offering individual counselling and couple counselling in Fleet, Hampshire. I am non-judgmental, warm and empathic and will try to understand your experience from your point of view, so you can feel safe to talk about your issues knowing that you won’t be judged or told what to do.
I believe that we have the ability to develop towards our full potential but life experiences can result in this process becoming blocked. Counselling can help you to accept yourself and find the inner resources to move forward.
Although we are shaped by our life experiences and our environment, I believe we are responsible for our own lives and can choose to change things about ourselves or our situation. A warm and accepting counselling relationship can help you to accept yourself and find the inner resources to move forward.
I offer an initial 50 minute session at a reduced fee of £20 so you can decide whether counselling is for you. We will discuss what you hope to achieve from your counselling and how we would work together, and should you decide to proceed we will have regular reviews to assess progress.
I am trained in the four main counselling approaches (Person-Centred, Existential, Psychodynamic and Cognitive-Behavioural) which I integrate to produce a unique therapy which is tailored to meet your needs as an individual.
Life can be stressful and sometimes people may resort to unhealthy or unhelpful coping strategies. I believe there is a need to assess what really matters to us, to reconnect with our true self and find what gives meaning to our lives. Counselling can help us to explore situations which do not serve us or bring us peace, and to reflect on how we can make changes within the limitations of our situation.
I have a special interest in meditation and mindfulness practice and its application in modern life.
