Dr Alexander Hektorsson (Chartered Psychologist)
I know that there are a lot of people out there who suffer in silence. Through my compassionate stance and my comprehensive training I am able to understand people’s pain and target their difficulties through the provisioning of professional counselling.
I provide a warm, confidential and safe environment which allows you to feel secure and comfortable to explore what is bothering you. In my work, I treat people's personal and psychological issues using effective therapeutic approaches. Such issues could be related to anxiety difficulties such as panic attacks or phobias; depression; anger issues; relationship and family difficulties and its negative effects such as challenging divorces, abuse, isolation or explotation; and trauma. These are only a few examples of areas that I work with. Additionally, I am aware that there are people who may struggle in their lives without really understanding what is wrong with them. I believe that if something is interfering with your life and not allowing you to grow and develop as everyone should, that needs to be addressed. I also believe that regardless of what is affecting you, I am committed to help you not only to reduce distressing symptoms but most importantly to identify and assimilate the source of your difficulties.

Your psychological treatment will be provided in the form of therapy sessions. Each session lasts for 50 minutes and takes place on a weekly basis. The amount of sessions that you may need will depend on the difficulties that you are experiencing and on how therapy progresses. I specialise in short-term therapy, emphasising on promoting independence and empowerment but I also provide long-term therapy if required.
I prefer face-to-face counselling but I am willing to provide these services through Skype or e-mail.
