About me

The decision to come to counselling and seek help is hugely personal. Well done for coming this far. I will offer you a safe, non-judgmental and held space where you can work through whatever it is you feel is troubling you.
I can work with you, either long or short-term, on the issues you are facing. I offer one-to-one counselling sessions in rooms across South Devon, including Totnes and Newton Abbot.

I am a British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy member and am on the BACP's register of approved practitioners. I also hold an Advanced Diploma in Integrative Counselling from the Dartmoor Centre for Counselling and Psychotherapy, an Advanced Practitioner in Substance Misuse qualification from Broadreach House, Plymouth as well as a Certificate in Counselling from the Iron Mill Centre, Exeter.

I am also one of the first recovery coaches in the UK to complete the Connecticut Community for Addiction Recovery training and received funding from Exeter Drugs Project to complete this, while I worked in a custodial setting in an abstinence based therapeutic community for recovery from drug addiction. I was also recognised by Phoenix Futures with a special award for the therapeutic work I did to promote and facilitate recovery within prisons.
The explosion of mobile technology and social media means there is also a bespoke service of Skype and telephone therapy available for people wherever they are in the world. This is one of the most exciting therapeutic development of recent times

I offer the following:

  • Person-centred counselling
  • Gestalt
  • CBT
  • Acceptance and Commitment Therapy
  • Sand Tray Therapy
  • Motivational interviewing
  • Solution-focused brief interventions
  • Addiction therapy
  • Group therapy/facilitation
  • Recovery Coaching
  • Skype and phone counselling, coaching.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Accredited register membership

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
