Alex Hegazy, Psychological Therapist, BABCP Accredited
20 Dalston Lane
23 Clerkenwell Close
I am trained to deliver Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and accredited with the British Association of Behavioural and Cognitive Psychotherapies (BABCP). I am also a postgraduate psychologist having completed British Psychological Society (BPS) accredited training.
I provide a supportive environment with which to address the distress you are experiencing and current difficulties that are holding you back. This means identifying thoughts, feelings and behaviours and looking for points where changes can be made.
I combine this with a practical problem solving approach to look at ways to reach the goals you are aiming for. After a set of treatment sessions I hope that you will have acquired a more balanced perspective of your situation that will enable you to better manage the ups and downs of life.
How CBT can help
CBT has been shown to be particularly useful for managing a range of anxiety and stress related problems.
These kinds of problems tend to be identified as work related stress, specific phobias such as fear of spiders or vomiting, general worry, health related worry, social anxiety, panic attacks, obsessive compulsive disorder (OCD) that includes intrusive thoughts and repetitive behaviours bringing with them an underlying sense of danger or doubt.
Some people also find strategies learnt in sessions useful for managing low mood and depression, dealing with different levels of sadness, coping with issues that relate to self esteem and perfectionism.
What to expect in your first session
If you would like to find out more about my practice please email or text and we can arrange a free 20 minute telephone consultation. Towards the end of the call we can decide on whether arranging an initial face to face session will be useful. During this first session we will aim to talk about the problems you are facing in more depth and agree on a weekly treatment plan to move forward with.
I am primarily based in the East Central London area which is easily accessible via Farringdon, Barbican, Angel and Kings Cross stations.
