About me

I am a fully qualified professional Counsellor who has a range of experience from working with children and young people to adults ranging from 18-60+. I provide a safe environment where you can come and explore any issues or feelings you have, without the fear of being judged or told what to do. I believe we all have the tools to solve our own problems or at least find some acceptance around them; sometimes things are just too hazy and jumbled to see clearly.

I specialise in addiction whether it be to alcohol, drugs, sex, gambling or food. So I am highly skilled to help you explore this and make some lasting changes.

I have a particular interest also in health, nutrition and fitness and so can also help with this area as I have found it is something a lot of people struggle with.

I am a strong believer that our minds and bodies are one unit so we need to work in parallel with them both to have the maximum results physically and mentally.

In my own experience I have found that having the space to explore what is going on with another human being outside your personal life can work wonders. I am not saying I can 'fix' something that has happened in the past or tell you what to do in a certain situation. What I can do is hopefully provide you with some needed support and build a relationship based on trust and understanding allowing you to work through any problems you may be experiencing.

My training is Humanistic Integrative and I use person-centred, Gestalt, TA and CBT. I work with clients who have a range of issues from minor through to more complex issues. I feel that every client is different and therefore would tailor our sessions to best suit your needs.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
