My name is Alan Stokes, I offer everyone a free consultation session. Whether you need to reduce your anxiety and stress, manage your weight, understand your anger, improve your relationships and confidence, remove a fear or phobia, gain more motivation or achieve sporting excellence along with many other issues, we have the answer, so come along and enjoy making positive changes in a relaxed and professional environment with a tailored therapy to your own specific goals and outcomes.
Throughout my career I have seen a wide range of issues and problems people have from stress, anxiety and countless family problems that I believe I can help you with, giving each individual case my upmost attention. You will receive professional personal and individually tailored treatment/therapy to maximise the positive outcomes you desire.
My practice offers a therapy room that encourages you to feel at ease and comfortable. It is based near the centre of Plymouth and has easy parking and access.
You will have an opportunity to discuss with me your specific needs and the desired changes you wish to make, I will answer any of your questions and offer my professional advice and way forward for you.

I am registered with the Association for Solution Focused Hypnotherapy (AfSFH), The National Council of Hypnotherapy (NCH), the Complementary & Natural Healthcare Council (CNHC) and The British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP) and abide by all their strict codes of conduct and ethics.
I am a fully qualified and insured Clinical Hypnotherapist and Counsellor. I trained at CPHT Plymouth which is one of the leading schools for training hypnotherapists and is renown for the quality and high standards of training. I also trained at Heartwood Centre for Counselling and Psychotherapy Training again one of the leading training establishments for Counselling and Psychotherapy in the South West.
I am proud to be a part of Plymouth Dementia Action Alliance and support every aspect of raising awareness of Dementia and those who are living with the condition every day.
We are also members of the federation of small businesses.

I have worked within the charity sector during my career supporting people and families during their times of crisis before setting up my own practice based in Plymouth.

I have specific training and experience in areas of anger, anxiety, domestic abuse, PTSD, mindfulness, tinnitus, relationship and addictions.
I have a wide range of experience of supporting individuals experiencing pain and discomfort and also work with sports minded people to increase their motivation and help them achieve their goals.
I also help facilitate a Tinnitus Support group for people experiencing and living with tinnitus and hearing loss its effects on an individual’s life and how this impact’s on both themselves and their families this is an area I am very passionate about. I work extensively with tinnitus sufferers and their families to help them understand the impacts on their emotional health and well-being and how the brain can focus on the negative impact and symptoms of these conditions and how they can be supported during this time.

My fees are £40 per hour for individuals and £60 for a couple, I offer discounts to service personnel, emergency service personnel, NHS staff and students.
