Ahi Wheeler: MSc, PGDip., UKCP/HIPC Accr., Psychotherapy & Counselling
10 Harley Street
2-8 Victoria Avenue
City Of London
I am a UKCP and HIPC accredited transpersonal psychotherapist and counsellor with nearly 20 years experience of working in the field of mental health and wellbeing, both within the NHS as well as in private practice. With a background in philosophy, and a keen interest in poetry, literature, and theology, I work with compassion and creativity to enable deep understanding and resolution of internal conflicts and confusion. We all carry our experiences with us, both positive and detrimental. They can sometimes show up in unhelpful and painful ways in spite of our best intentions. In turn this can sabotage progress we wish to make, or think we are making. Starting to work with the past and understand its impact on the present is often hugely beneficial in learning to understand ourselves and make choices that support and enable us to live well. This is an area that I am very skilled in, both through my work and through my own experiences in life.
I have extensive experience and expertise in working with individuals and couples, and my clients come from a diverse range of backgrounds and circumstances. I use a transpersonal, psychodynamic and humanistic/integrative approach to meet the differing needs of clients. I work in Harley Street (Central London) and City of London.
I follow the Japanese pottery principle of Kintsukuroi - the art of repairing pottery with gold or silver lacquer and understanding that the piece is more beautiful for having been broken - and apply this to my work with clients. My approach is in part informed by my own background and cultural influence of the Far East and southern Asia. You will find a safe, calm, and quiet environment in my therapy room. I am confident that I will be able to help you, as I have worked successfully with a very diverse range of issues. Please do get in touch.
