Agne Kiznyte (MSc, PGDip., MBACP reg.)
Psychosynthesis & Education Trust
92-94 Tooley Street
I am a qualified counsellor and a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (MBACP).
I am trained in Psychosynthesis counselling, a holistic type of therapy that is aimed to understand your individual life experience and its effects in the here and now.
While working I draw on variety of psychological therapeutic approaches and use different techniques such as drawing, imagery and visualization in order to bring more awareness to the mind, body and emotion level.
Sometimes we might think that working through issues by ourselves or with family and friends is enough. However, often complex experiences and emotions might be difficult to share or make sense of on your own. Counselling offers an opportunity to increase self-awareness in a confidential and acceptant space and proves more effective and reaffirming in such instances.
Who can benefit?
I see clients of all genders, from variety of backgrounds who are facing loss, abuse, illness and overwhelming emotions such as depression, anger, powerlessness, guilt, shame, inadequacy or a sense of meaninglessness.
My specific interest lies in exploration of relationship difficulties and family dynamics that oftentimes lead to exploration of individuals' childhood.
How does it work?
I work with individual adults in a time-limited framework. My primary role as a counsellor is to support you through the process of sharing past and present emotional struggles. I work by helping you identify what situations or emotions hold you back in life, why and what you need to develop in yourself to get closer to where you want to be.
I see counselling as a dynamic process that is adapted to differing needs of each individual, thus the length of therapy will depend on your situation and the depth of exploration. During the initial session we explore reasons that bring you to therapy, your concerns and what you would like to achieve from the sessions. From this we set specific goals that we both can work for within a set time period.
