About me

My name is Nicola Logan, I am a qualified Counsellor and Person-Centred Counselling Supervisor, covering areas of S60;S65;S9 due to a central location with public transport routes as well as free parking facilities. I have ten years experience both within an NHS organisation and as a private practitioner. Throughout my practice I have worked with clients on many areas of life including bereavement, anxiety, relationships, confidence, sexuality, and bullying. I offer individuals and couples a safe and open space in which to explore the issues they are wanting to bring into their counselling.

I am a client-centred counsellor, which means that I tailor the sessions and the counselling around your needs as a client, therefore allowing you to gain the most out of your sessions. I integrate my training and learning of other counselling approaches if appropriate into the work with my clients, this is discussed between us during our sessions. These other approaches may include solution focused counselling, cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT). Alongside my face to face counselling practice, I also offer online counselling as well as life coaching, this can include things such as wanting to make changes in your career, relationships, self image and confidence.

From February 2018, I will also be offering Hypnotherapy alongside Counselling and other therapies offered, including Life Coaching and Emotional Freedom Technique (tapping)

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Accredited register membership

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.

Further information

Sometimes one of the hardest actions to take when we are feeling vulnerable is to reach out and make contact with another person. I understand this which is why when you have made that decision to contact me, you will be provided with a service which is non-judgemental and offers a belief in your ability and potential to move forward in your issue.
