About me

At some point during our lives, most of us face situations that are too difficult to manage or understand. Or we feel an overwhelming sense of despair, anxiety or self-loathing, repeating the same old self-destructive patterns over and over again.

My experience as a therapist has taught me that our wounds are often the openings into the best and most beautiful part of us and that there is no greater agony than bearing an untold story inside us.

Talking to an experienced psychotherapist can release you from being alone with painful, confusing thoughts and feelings, as together we make sense of things, enabling you to decide what - and how - to change. Deeper insight into your relational patterns, as well as into your beliefs about yourself, the world and others and the strong feelings these evoke in you will enable you to develop healthier, more satisfying relationships, increase your self-confidence, change your self-defeating behavioural patterns and thrive.

Therapy can also reduce your sense of negativity, hopelessness and lack of assertiveness and improve your ability to function in interpersonal, social and work situations.

I have been working for many years with individuals facing a wide range of issues, including relationship problems, sexual and physical abuse, separation and divorce, depression, bereavement, anger management problems, seasonal affective disorder, shyness, low self-esteem, phobias, generalised anxiety, panic disorder, redundancy, trauma, self-harm, loneliness, jealousy, abortion and addiction.   I also have experience in borderline, bipolar and other disorders.

I offer a secure, confidential relationship.   My quiet, comfortable consulting room is located just off Westbourne Grove, within a few minutes' walk from Notting Hill Gate tube station,

Below are a few testimonials from past clients:

"I can't thank you enough Abi.   Our time together has been so precious and has taught me so much. I feel like a completely different person".     Charlotte P - West London.

"It took a lot of courage to make that initial call to you, but I'm so pleased I did. I've grown enormously as a person through our sessions and things now make so much more sense.   I dread to think how I'd still be feeling and behaving if I'd never made that first call". James S - West London.

"I can't believe how much more relaxed and together I feel as a result of our sessions.   That constant anxiety and self-hatred has completely disappeared".   Claire F - Central London.

"I used to feel so alone, anxious and numb - unable to really connect with people. I now have so much more self-confidence.   My relationships are much closer and more honest and satisfying.   They give me energy, whereas before they used to drain me".   James F - Central London.

"I'm determined that my new life starts here.   I've learnt so much about myself through our sessions.   And my new awareness has given me the tools to approach life in a completely different way.   Thank you so much".   Chloe D - West London.

For ongoing work I usually see clients once per week, sometimes twice at a regular time.
