Inner World Writing

Creative/therapeutic writing for self-expression and self-discovery

Many of us have a longing to write, which may have been stifled when young, or put aside for various practical reasons, but which does not go away. Often we dont how to get started, or what to write about. One way of doing this is through a particular type of writing which allows our ideas to arise spontaneously and flow through us. All that is required is a willingness to let go of our usual ego-mindset and allow our imagination free flow, to help us uncover more of our creativity and at the same time learn more about ourselves.

This works in the intermediate space between our conscious and unconscious minds. The first thing each of us is faced with is a blank page or blank screen, waiting to receive images of who we are, beneath our usual masks. Writing is like ritual in which we go from our present, known situation, through a period of change, which can be frightening because it is unsettling and disorientating and leads us into the unknown. However, we finally come through to the new state, and relative stability. This requires us to enter realms of emptiness, unknowing, uncertainty, to face our doubts and fears about ourselves, life, the universe.

We all have a unique voice and my workshops are about helping people to express themselves through writing creatively, in prose and poetry.
