Hakomi self-study groups

Hakomi is a body-centred way to study our present experience. Through the practice of mindfulness we develop awareness for the subtle gestures and signatures that we habitually practice. When our mind is stilled we can start to explore the origins of these habits. With a supportive environment, old deeply engrained ways of being can be relaxed and new more intimate ways of being can be discovered simply through the experience of facilitated loving support.
There are many experiences in our life especially in childhood, where parts of our self have had to be compromised in order to get through a difficult period. The residue of such times usually stays with us, they can be character building, but they can be limiting too.
The unpleasant feelings of these times we naturally bury or exile, yet they continue to influence us unconsciously, especially when these exiled feelings are stirred up. At such times we often behave in ways were not happy with or do things that we dont understand the reason for why we are doing them.
In Hakomi Self-study groups with the support of others we get to reside in a gentle nurturing environment, a Hakomi group atmosphere enables more deeply embedded patterns greater support than one to one therapy. A collective presence when well facilitated creates a greater sense of connection and multiplies the depth of nurturing.
