Freedom

I am continually confronted by "issues of addiction" and how addictive patterns of behaviour manifest more and more in day to day lives. Addictions such as drinking too much, dependence on unhealthy relationships, love affairs with food that go wrong and more.............. Patterns of living that are continually attempting to ease uncomfortable feelings.

The natural emotions that arise from losing a loved one, difficult feelings when money is tight and family relationships are frought, the anxiety of an errant child, even just "surviving" - issues that are a part of everyday life. Having a drink, a joint, a bet, an affair can seem like "a good idea at the time" in order to escape, then it is found that there is no escape, we are again left with ourselves!

Sex, Drugs n'Rock and Roll doesn't heal the "hole in the soul", the signpost to freedom is "the talking cure", by sharing the pain it is lessened and over time there is the realisation that "the crutches" can be discarded and life can continue as never before.
