Counsellor Profile

The most important thing is the relationship between me and my client. I aim to provide a safe environment in which you can feel able to work through your issues. Humour is one of my tools. I am non-judgemental, but gently challenging where appropriate. I fully appreciate how nerve-wracking it can be to take that initial step to go for counselling. Shouldn't I/we be able to sort this out?; I /we dont want to go and bare my/our souls(s) to some complete stranger, etc etc. In my experience just having made that initial appointment is the point at which things start to improve and a glimmer of hope replaces the previous negative feelings.

I worked voluntarily part-time in a large GP Practice in Littlehampton for 3 years after which I started my own private practice both in Petersfield and in London. My referrals come from GPs, word of mouth, Thompson Local Directory, and the BACP (British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy) website. I am a member of the BACP.
