Counsellor Profile

We are three Counsellors and Psychotherapists and/or Group Facilitators who have come together to form POPLAR COUNSELLING. We work from a Person Centred perspective and we are all members of British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and hold full indemnity cover. We are based in central Brighton and our service covers Sussex.

We offer general counselling for a wide variety of issues as well as specialising in areas of Sexual Abuse, Anger Management, Illness. and Post Natal Depression (PND)

I am one of the therapists of POPLAR COUNSELLING and I offer One to One Counselling to Adults; Creative and Therapeutic Group work; and Clinical Supervision.

Training, Qualifications & Experience (more info)

My personal qualifications include:
-Diploma in Counselling - HND
-BA Hons Social Policy including Psychology contextual.

I am an accredited member of British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) - MBACP(accred);
a Registered Counsellor -UKRC;
I am also a UKRCP Registered Independent Counsellor / Psychotherapist.

My experience includes:
-working in long term Private Practice; - at a GP surgery for two years;
-in a Secondary School setting working with young people;
-and Facilitating Creative and Therapeutic Groups from a local Day centre.

Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD)

Phobias

Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD)

Other areas of counselling I deal with

Post Natal Depression(PND);
Childhood Sexual Abuse;
Illness / Ill Health including cancer;

Fees

My fees are:

-Individual counselling and psychotherapy 50 mins -£40
First 30 min session free.
There is some concession for low income and counsellors in training -£25-£30

-Individual Supervision (1 hour) - £40
Individual Supervision to fulfil BACP requirement (1 1/2 Hours) - £55
Reduced fees for Counsellors in Training - please ask.

POPLAR COUNSELLING is now offering Low cost counselling with a counsellor or counsellor in training £15-£20 per session- please ask.

-Groupwork, workshops and training costs on request.

Extra Information

We work from a central location in Brighton close to Seven Dials and have availability of appointments for One to One Counselling in the day, evening and at weekends.

Supervision also available at these times.

Metered parking is available all around the local area of the location and Brighton main line train station is a 10 minute walk away.
