Counsellor Profile
Initially working in industry I retrained as a social worker and then, starting in 1980, trained as a psychotherapist, qualifying in 1987. My interest in pursuing a career in psychotherapy stemmed from a period of personal therapy which was of great help to me at a challenging time in my life.
Have worked since in private practice, offering individual and couples therapy.
My personal style I would describe as Integrative and relational, in that I believe that the psychotherapy relationship, developed sensitively over time, can offer the opportunity to explore, understand and begin to change our worrying and complex ways of feeling about ourselves and our relationships.
Will hope to offer my experience both personal and professional, and share in an interesting and challenging journey of change.
