Profile
My interest in pursuing a career in psychotherapy came from a period of personal therapy which was of great help to me at a challenging time in my life.
So after many years in industry and social work I trained as a psychotherapist for five years and qualified in 1987, working since in private practice, offering individual and couples psychotherapy.
I would say that my style of psychotherapy is both Integrative and relational.
Integrative in that following my primary training I have explored many other approaches to psychotherapy and weave them into my work.
Relational in that I believe the psychotherapy relationship, developed sensitively and supportively, offers an excellent opportunity to explore, understand and begin to change our worrying, repetitive and complex ways of feeling about ourselves and our relationships.
I hope to offer my rich personal and extensive professional experience of therapy, and work together in a creative and challenging journey of change.
