Counsellor Profile

Liz Mason MBACP(Accred) Adv.Dip Counselling, Dip SW.

I have extensive experience in therapeutic work with individuals and groups. This includes working as a Counsellor in Private Practice, for a GP Surgery, Youth Agency and Business Sector Organisations. I also provide supervision to individuals and groups both privately and for organisations. I facilitate support groups and deliver professional development training in the public and private sectors. I have developed a range of projects in youth and community work, training and educational organisations.

I provide short term and ongoing counselling for adults and young people. I facilitate a supportive and confidential environment in which you can talk freely about your problems. These may be long standing difficulties in your life, or specific problems you are currently experiencing.

Short term work is usually arranged for a contract of 6 – 18 sessions and focuses on specific issues you would like to address. You will have the opportunity to explore your experiences, clarify your own situation and identify any changes you wish to make.

Counselling can help you to gain new perspectives and greater self-understanding that enable you to work towards living in a more satisfying and resourceful way.

Ongoing therapeutic counselling provides the opportunity to explore in-depth underlying patterns of thoughts, feelings and beliefs affecting your current experiences. Duration of ongoing therapeutic counselling can be anything from 1 - 4 years.

This is a journey of self-discovery that can enable a greater sense of connectedness, acceptance, value and purpose in life.

My approach to therapeutic work is integrative. This draws together various therapeutic disciplines to support the whole person, their psychological, emotional, physical and spiritual wellbeing.

I aim to work in ways that are accessible, supportive, creative and empowering.
