Profile
I am a Counsellor and Psychotherapist working with individuals, couples & children both in Nottingham and Whatton (nr. Bingham, which is within easy reach of Grantham, Newark, Bottesford, Cotgrave, Radcliffe and Melton Mowbray).
I offer couples counselling as well as working with individual adults, adolescents and children, whether that be with relationship issues, bereavement, anger, anxiety, depression, stress, trauma, self-esteem ... or towards a more meaningful way of living.
My personal approach is Person-Centred, based on a positive belief in the potential of humans beings. I bring a willingness to meet a client where they are and to honestly participate in a therapeutic relationship. I believe that together we can find some insight and clarity to enable you to be everything you can be, therefore empowering you to make decisions and choices that are right for you, and build a sense of resilience to aid emotional well-being now, and into the future.
Training, Qualifications & Experience
I am a UKCP registered Psychotherapist with a Masters degree in Humanistic Person-Centred Psychotherapy. I am a member of both UKCP and BACP and adhere to their codes of ethics and good practice, and I am committed to on-going personal and professional development, including regular supervision. In addition to my core qualification, I am trained to work in Couples Counselling; with Anger Management issues; and have attended in-depth training in working with Trauma.
I have over six years experience of working with individual adults and couples, young people and children, from a variety of settings, including GP Surgeries, Universities, Primary Schools, various Voluntary Sector Counselling Services, as well as in Private Practice.

Further Information
Counselling aims to offer you the opportunity, in a confidential setting, to explore, discover and clarify ways of looking at your life, and discover new ways of being, both individually and in relationship. It is a way of giving you time and space to discover more effective and rewarding ways of coping and living.
As your counsellor, I would aim to support you in developing your own insights, awareness and possible solutions to the issues that are important to you.
