Counsellor Profile

I am a qualified and experienced counsellor for individuals and couples, working in Beccles and Norwich. I offer warmth and respect, as well as my training and experience, and see counselling as an opportunity for us to explore and ease your distress or feelings of stuckness. Often, our present difficulties are rooted in the past, and by becoming aware of this connection, we can learn to change negative beliefs about ourselves and have more choice in how we live our lives.

Confidential counselling can be a way to explore your difficulties without burdening friends or family, and without being judged or criticised.

I believe we all have hidden resources inside, and that counselling can help to resolve inner conflicts, increase our self-awareness and self-acceptance, and develop our potential for a more meaningful life.

My training is in Integrative Psychosynthesis, a holistic approach which includes mind, body, heart, soul and spirit. I use a variety of approaches and techniques, depending on what you need.

Before I trained as a counsellor, I had 20 years' experience as a social worker in the NHS and community, working with people from many different cultures and backgrounds.

COUPLE COUNSELLING

Our society paints a rosy, romantic picture of being a couple, and when things become difficult you may feel that you have failed, or that you made a mistake in your choice of partner. Couple counselling can give you both a fresh vision of your relationship, by understanding why you chose each other and the patterns of behaviour between you. You can learn how to communicate in a clear and non-blaming way and to value the differences between you.
