Profile

Based in Letchworth on the Herts/Beds border, as a counsellor I tailor therapy uniquely to each person or couple and provide a peaceful consulting room where I hope to foster relief and change and a chance to reflect. 
 
After an initial meeting there is no obligation to commit to futher sessions should you feel it is not right for you. Most new clients however make it their priority as they have a strong desire to change.

I have received several referrals through previous clients.  As an experienced counsellor I am able to work with clients on both a short term and long term basis.  In the initial assessment appointment I discuss the difference between these two ways of working.

As a qualified  counselling supervisor currently working at Hitchin counselling Service, I welcome enquiries from counsellors in training as well as from those who are more experienced.

Training, Qualifications & Experience

Post Graduate Diploma in Counselling, University of Hertfordshire.
Certificate in Supervision, (CST) Cambridge Supervision Training.
Further training in assessments and short-term work (WPF) Westminster Pastoral Foundation. 
Comprehensive further training in Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT)
 
An accredited member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP).
Listed on the United Kingdom Register of Counsellors and Psychotherapists (UKRC) 
Member of the BACP Association for Independent Practitioners (AIP) and Healthcare Counselling Psychotherapy.

I have worked with a wide range of clients from the newly bereaved or injured, to drivers who have caused fatalities in a Road Traffic Crash, and for several years as  a PCT counsellor through GP referrals. Other clients include those funded through their workplace with EAPS (employment assisted providers) This has enabled me to gain considerable experience in an extensive range of issues. 

I welcome self-referrals as well as GP referrals and those from Employment Assistant Providers. I draw from Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), Person-Centred and Psychodynamic approaches which I integrate where appropriate. I also offer couples counselling for difficulties in relationships.

Fees

My current rates for the initial assessment appointment are:-

£40 for individuals   (50 mins)
£45 for couples       (60 mins)
£40 for supervisees (60 mins)

Fees are then discussed according to affordability and individual needs.
Appointments are at the same time and day weekly.
