Counsellor Profile

I am a BACP accredited counsellor and also on the United Kingdom Register of Counsellors. I have a private counselling room at home in a quiet location with parking. I work with both individuals and couple and have appointments available on Thursdays and Fridays. I have 24 years experience as a nurse qualifying as a Registered Nurse in 1986 and as Registered Sick Childrens Nurse in 1989. I have lived in Dorset since December 2006 and I have been working for Barnardos Childrens Charity since April 2007.

I completed my counselling training in Sydney Australia in 1996 where I lived for 6 years. I then went on to work as a clinic counsellor working with pregnancy and female issues. On my return to the UK I trained as a Relate Counsellor and have worked with them for 6 years, working with both individuals and couples. In 2007 I completed a certificate in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy which has opened up new avenues of thinking and working for all my clients.
