About me

Hello and welcome

My name is Dr Shelley Eisen. I am a Psychotherapist and Counsellor with over 20 years experience of treating individuals, couples and families within my private practice and NHS clinics.

Other treatment types such as psychotherapy may be completed over longer periods.

Other areas of counselling I deal with

In addition to the above I am a member of the Association of Family Therapy. This work involves trying to work out what is best for a parent/parents and their children. Sometimes this works, other times it doesn't but it is always worth a try to save a family from fracturing.

Also, I have experience working with those who are Transgender. I spent 10 years working in the NHS as Lead therapist in Sexual Health across 2 hospitals. I am well aware of the waiting length times in the Public Sector hence the need for the private sector. It's sad that these services are dwindling in the NHS but It is people like myself who are able to pick up, for example, those who do not want to wait for an appointment several months ahead.

My fee is £90 per session at the London Independent for an individual. £100 per couple. £110 per family.
£80 per session at the Kings Oak Hospital for an individual. £85 per couple. £90 per family.

Payment is required on the day.
Cancelation without 24 hours notice £50

I accept private referrals - either by telephone or email.

I accept referrals from your GP or Consultant.

I am a Provider for the following health insurers:
Standard Life

Further information

Life can be fine one minute and not the next; we never know when this might happen. Having someone to talk to, who is impartial and can see "the wood from the trees" is usually very helpful.

Families can be great listeners but , in my experience  working with couples and individuals, listening is different, we are objective.

In addition, I like to think that I am not seen as someone who sits on a pedestal; I am as human as everyone else. I have made mistakes in the past and, no doubt, will do so in the future.

If I have made someone smile in a session, it has been a good session.
I have experience seeing people with:

                                                   relationship issues
                                                   family issues
                                                   separation and divorce
                                                   Couples issues
                                                   low self esteem/confidence
                                                   psychosexual problems
                                                   work- related stress
                                                   Post traumatic stress disorder (PTSD)
                                                   Chronic fatigue syndrome
