Counsellor Profile
I am a counsellor/psychotherapist working from my home near OAKHAM and from the Church Street Practice in MELTON MOWBRAY.
I have 16 years experience as a qualified, Registered Independent Practitioner. I have extensive experience working for the NHS, currently heading up a therapy service in one of the largest GP Medical Practices in the UK.
I have gained considerable experience in working with a wide range of issues including: depression, anxiety, phobias, panic disorder, stress and relationship issues.
I work using an integrative approach which means I have training and experience in different ways of working which enables me to tailor the way I work to the needs of the individual.
I believe that the quality of the relationship between client and therapist is central to the work.

I have 16 years experience in the NHS as Head of the Counselling/Psychotherapy Service at a large GP Practice in Leicestershire, working with individuals and couples covering a broad range of issues at various life stages. I work with issues such as work stress,anxiety, confidence issues that require a CBT approach. CBT is useful in helping to identify and change unhelpful thinking patterns that result in self defeating behaviours.
I have considerable experience in working with couples who have relationship difficulties. I am increasingly working with couples who want to understand themselves and each other more fully, are preparing to live together or are getting married and as such want to explore areas like communication, managing conflict, finance, values, career isues,parenting, sexual intimacy. I also help them to understand personality differences using personal profiling tools.
SUPERVISOR/TRAINER: I have 15 years experience in training counsellors. I have 14 years experience in individual and group supervision and currently supervise within the NHS and on a private basis. I work with trainees, newly qualified therapists and those who are more experienced practitioners.

As a Senior Accredited Member of BACP, I work to the BACP Code of Ethics. I am also a registered member of UKRCP and CPC. I am CRB checked on both national and international levels. I have experience in working with short term and longer term issues. Clients have a choice to work on a weekly or fortnightly basis. I offer a confidential and relaxed setting. Safe parking available
