Profile

I am a MBACP (British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy) Senior Accredited counsellor and experienced supervisor practicing in the Bassetlaw, Gainsborough, South Yorkshire, Lincolnshire and North Nottinghamshire areas with over 11 years counselling experience. I offer brief and long term counselling to individuals and couples within the age groups of eight to adult of all ages.

I am an integrative counsellor, with experience and understanding of more than one theoretical approach with a main focus on CBT. I believe no two clients have the same presenting problems and issues, as such no one theory base is appropriate for all them. I tailor the process to meet the specific needs of my clients ensuring I provide a service which is unique to the clients requirements. Through exploration I aim to help my clients recognise and accept their presenting problems and issues with a view to changing their lives to one which is healthy and acceptable for them.

As an experienced counselling supervisor I offer supervision to qualified and student counsellors, both individual or group supervision, who may work independently or employed by a service provider. I provide supervision for school counselling services, volunteer agency counsellors, emergency services, student counsellors and individuals.

At all times I work within the BACP Code of Ethics.

As a Senior Accredited Counsellor I am required to undergo continuous training each year.

I accept referrals from health professionals and individuals and offer an assessment session for clients to understand the counselling process and make an informed decision as to whether to proceed with counselling. Sessions will be mutually agreed and last for a counselling hour.
I have experience working with young people and adults from the age of eight upwards in schools, work places, clinics and home settings.

Fees

Individual counselling £30 per counselling hour

Couples counselling £40 per counselling hour

Supervision £30 per hour with a minimum of 1.5 hours per month.
Student counsellors £20 per hour with a minimum of 1.5 hours per month.

My counselling prcatice covers the area's of Lincoln, Gainsborough, Retford, Worksop, Newark and parts of South Yorkshire, with a central office outside Retford. Consideration also given to other venues e.g. home, work, school.
