Counsellor Profile

I am a MBACP (British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy) Accredited counsellor and experienced supervisor practicing in the Retford, Gainsborough, South Yorkshire, Lincolnshire and North Nottinghamshire areas with over 9 years counselling experience. I offer brief and long term counselling to individuals and couples within the age groups of eight to adult of all ages.

I trained as an intergretive counsellor, which means I have knowldege and understanding of more than one theoretical approach with a main focus on CBT. I believe all clients are different and have different presenting problems and issues, as such no one theory base is appropriate for all them. I tailor the process to meet the specific needs of my clients ensuring I provide a service which is unique to the clients requirements through the use of the different theory bases. Through exploration I aim to help my clients recognise and accept their presenting problems and issues with a view to changing their lives to one which is healthy and acceptable for them.

As an experienced counselling supervisor I offer supervision to qualified and student counsellors, both individual or group supervision, who may be working independently or employed by a service provider. I provide supervision for school counselling services, volunteer agency counsellors, emergency services, student counsellors and individuals.

At all times I work within the BACP Code of Ethics.

As an Accredited Counsellor I am required to undergo a minimum of 30 hours continual development and learning each year.

I have experience working with young people and adults from the age of eight upwards in schools, work places, clinics and home settings whose presenting problems range from bereavement, behaviour to relationship issues.

Fees

Individual counselling £30 per session

Couples counselling £40 per session

Supervision £30 per hour with a minimum of 1.5 hours per month.
Student counsellors £20 per hour with a minimum of 1.5 hours per month.

Access to rooms in Lincoln, Newark and Bawtry. Consideration also given to other venues e.g. home, work, school.
