Profile

Irene has worked as a Counsellor and Cognitive-Behavioural Psychotherapist since 2000. She has a Bachelors degree with honours in Psychology & Sociology, a Masters degree in Humanistic Counselling and a further Masters degree in Cognitive Behavioural Psychotherapy. She also has level 1 & 2 training in EMDR. She is presently working towards gaining a Doctorate of Practice in Cognitive Behavioural Practice. Her research is focused on low self- esteem and perfectionism.

Training, Qualifications & Experience

Bsc in Psychology & Sociology; MSc in Counselling; MSc in Cognitve Behavioural Psychotherapy; Certificate in EMDR.

Irene has worked in various settings during her clinical training, for example, Psychotherapy Department, National Health Service (NHS), UPPR (University of Derby). She has also worked in a Psychiatric Department (Greek National Health Service).

She has been working within the private sector since 2003. During the years 2003-2010 she has been working as a Lecturer and Clinical supervisor for the MSc course in Cognitive Behavioural Psychotherapy and BSc course in Psychology & Counselling at the University of Derby.

Presently she is a Lecturer at the University of Hull and has her own private practice.

Fees

Self-funding - if the client is funding the sessions, the fee is £60 per hour. If home visits are regularly required and the travelling time will be more than 30 minutes one way there is an additional fee of £15 per session to account for travelling time.

Funded - if the sessions are funded through an organisation,
e.g. as part of a compensation claim, by the person’s employer, through a health insurance policy, then the fee is £80 per hour. £15 per session is added for home visits if the travelling time will be more than 30 minutes one way.

Further Information

Irene is an accredited member of the BABCP and EMDR UK & Ireland. She is working within the guidelines of these bodies and she has full professional indemnity cover. She receives regular clinical supervision from Accredited CBP therapists to ensure that she delivers ethical and effective services.
She offers home visits to people living in Derby and East Midlands Region including Nottinghamshire & Chesterfield.
