Profile

I am a Counsellor & Clinical Supervisor working in Private Practice across Coventry and Warwickshire. I am an Accredited Member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy and am bound by their Ethical Framework for Good Practice.

I trained as a Humanisitc Therapist but have also gone on to train as a Cognitive Behavioural Therapist. This combination of skills and training allow me to offer a service which is tailored to the needs of each individual client.

I have trained and worked across a range of fields including:- Trauma, Bereavement, HIV/AIDS, Eating Disorders, Drugs/Alcohol, Employment Issues, Relationship issues, Depression and so on.

Work Approach

Having trained in two different 'models' of therapy has provided me with tools and techniques that can be applied to either 'short-term, solution focussed therapy' wherein clients have a very specific issue that they wish to focus on exclusively - in such a case therapy is like to follow the Cognitive Behaviour Therapy way of working. Alternatively some client's wish to take a more exploratory approach to counselling without a set agenda - this is more Humanistic in it's nature and allows for greater flexibility in terms of the duration of therapy. Either model is proven to be effective - what decides the way in which I work is the client not the model.

I also offer Clinical Supervision to Qualified and Student Counsellors.
