This is the vitally important benefit of private counselling - you decide when, who with and for how long.

Emotional difficulties associated with Mid-Life and Aging:

As we navigate our way through this lengthy stage of life we often find that being 'middle-aged' brings many first time challenges and dilemmas. For many this provokes pervading feelings of dissatisfaction and a real sense of:

loss; rejection; fear, anxiety and depression; failure; loneliness; time running out.

Counselling can help to make emotional sense of what is happening to you at this time of your life, bringing relief, internal strength and a sense of increased courage and freedom.

Bereavement and Pet Loss and Bereavement:

Loss is a painful part of all of our lives and grief is a tremendously powerful emotion. It is painful and exhausting.

It may seem as if our society places pressure on us to 'get over' our losses. The loss or death of a loved animal for instance is often misunderstood, unrecognised, or at worse, ridiculed.

As experienced counsellors, we are trained to understand each person's nature of the relationship and attachment with loved pets. We understand that for some the rupture of the human-animal bond may feel equally or even more devastating than the loss of a human companion or relative.

Working through your grief may feel a painful process, but it can be a very necessary and healthy way forward, leading to improvements in both your emotional and physical health.

    Fees

The fee per counselling session depends on the practice location and the time of day you choose.

Telephone Counselling is paid via the main Primary Counselling website (see top of page). The fee per 45 minute session is £25.00 making this an affordable way to access help and support.

It may be helpful for counselling/psychotherapy students to know that we are fully qualified psychodynamic practitioners.

    Further Information

There are times when it can feel especially difficult to cope with life. People seek counselling and therapy for many different reasons. Many who seek private counselling sense that their conflicting and confusing emotional state is beginning to impact on other areas of their lives, including their physical health. This often creates a sense of urgency.

This is where private counselling can help. As an independent practice we endeavour to offer you an initial appointment within a few days of your enquiry.
