Counsellor Profile
Simon Armson has a private clinical psychotherapy practice in London and Berkshire and also works as an executive and life coach. In addition he is a Mental Health Act Commissioner and a Member of the Mental Health Review Tribunal. He was on the staff of Samaritans for twenty years, fifteen of which were as Chief Executive and he was an active Samaritan volunteer for thirty-one years. He has been a member of many academic and government working groups in the field of mental health, with a particular emphasis on suicide prevention and self-harm. He has delivered papers nationally and internationally on these subjects and contributed chapters to various academic texts.

Simon Armson trained in cognitive analytic psychotherapy at Guys Hospital. He is registered with UKCP and with ACAT. He has a Masters degree in Mental Health Studies gained at London University and has a Business Diploma in NLP and is a qualified MBTI practitioner. In addition to his experience as a Samaritan volunteer he has been in psychotherapy practice for fifteen years.
