Counsellor ProfileI am a qualified counsellor working in an integrative-existential approach. I have experience of working with a wide range of issues and can offer both short and long term counselling with individuals. My approach centres on the ideas that life itself poses challenges, difficulties and ever changing circumstances. Just when we feel we most need to be secure, we find ourselves again in unfamiliar territory and unsure of how to proceed or who we are. Often we live in ways that seem unlike the way we wish to be. My aim is to work with what is troubling you, to facilitate your understanding and to re-create a meaningful way for you to continue.I have experience with a diverse range of issues, with particular interest in anxiety, OCD, depression, age, life transitions, identity, loss and grief. Training, Qualifications & Experience (more info)I am a qualified counsellor and member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (MBACP) I currently work as a counsellor in both private practice and at Sheffield Hallam University for students and staff. I have a background of working in the arts; visual art, theatre and creative writing. Through this experience I have worked closely with and had the opportunity to meet many different people of all ages, and across cultures. I have counselled in Primary Care and in a mental health setting.I hold a BA Hons, Adv Dip in Counselling and a Pg Cert in Counselling and Critical Studies.
