Profile
If how you feel or some of the things you do stop you enjoying your life, your relationships or your work, the therapy I offer to individuals or couples will help.
It need not be that things are unsatisfactory, but that you want to explore how they could be.
WHAT TO DO NEXT?
Telephone, e-mail, or write to make a first appointment.
WHAT HAPPENS AT THE FIRST SESSION?
At this first meeting, you can talk in more detail about what has brought you.
You will get a feel for what it is like to work with a psychotherapist.
If you feel comfortable working with me, we will then agree to meet each week at a fixed time.
We will discuss the fee.
LOCATION
I practise in Banbury. Most of my clients come from North Oxfordshire, West Northamptonshire and South Warwickshire. There is good rail and motorway access from Oxford, Bicester and Leamington.
HOW CAN PSYCHOTHERAPY HELP?
It is hard to talk about feelings like sadness, anger, fear, hate, loss and helplessness. Often this is because we are worried about burdening friends and family.
Sometimes we feel ashamed of such difficult feelings, or we feel friends and family are part of the problem.
Talking with a psychotherapist can help us better understand our feelings and reactions to things in our life.
Then we can look at how we might make more of those things which are working for us and change the things that are not.
HOW LONG DOES COUNSELLING OR PSYCHOTHERAPY TAKE?
If you want a sounding board to help you make sense of your situation and make better choices in life, I offer short term focussed work. A few sessions can make a big difference.
If you want to look more deeply at how you come to be as you are and to change how you feel about yourself and the world, the work can take some months.
