About me

Whatever troubles you, talking about your experiences and feelings in safety and confidence will help you to understand them and so enable you to fully enjoy your life, your relationships and your work.

It need not be that things are unsatisfactory, but that you want to explore how they could be.

It is hard to talk about difficult feelings and experiences. Often this is because we are worried about burdening friends and family or find it to hard to reach out them.

Sometimes we feel ashamed of difficult feelings, or we feel friends and family are part of the problem. Sometimes we worry that we don’t feel things.

Sometimes we find ourselves doing things we don’t want to do, or which we know are not good for us or for those whom we love.

Talking with well trained and experienced counsellor or psychotherapist will help you to understand your emotional reactions - or the lack of them. Once you understand them and learn to trust them, you can let our feelings guide you in enriching your life, your relationships and your work.

At this first meeting, you can talk in more detail about what has brought you and what you hope to achieve. You will get a feel for what it is like to work with me.

If you feel sufficiently comfortable we will arrange to meet regularly for an agreed time.

We will discuss and agree the fee.

If you want a sounding board to help you make sense of your situation and/or deal with a specific issue, a few sessions will make a big difference.

If you want to look more deeply at how you come to be as you are and to change how you feel about yourself and the world, this can be a long term project.

If you contact me through the e-mail link at the top of this page I will waive my fee for the first session.

If you decide to go on with psychotherapy or counselling we will agree a fee which reflects your personal circumstances. This could involve a significant concession.

As aguide, a person on benefits or low income might expect to pay between £15 and £25.

At the other end of the scale, a full-time professional seeking a session outside normal working hours should expect to pay between £45 and £65.

My fee for a couple will be about one and half times those for a similar individual.

Supervision & training

I see supervision as a collaborative opportunity for practitioners to examine their work and explore the meaning of their reactions to clients' material.
