Profile

I specialize in couples counselling and relationships and am able to see couples or individuals in crisis at short notice. I have been in practice for several years now being deeply committed to mental health counselling adult couples and individuals from all walks of life; I practice discreetly and confidentially from my practice room in Worcester Park;

As we get into the new year I have been noticing more and more individuals and couples struggling to make sense of sexual issues in their personal relationships. Often, these concerns are not overt i.e the couple or individual come to me because they are angry, dissatisfied, resentful, afraid, etc, with the state of the relationship. Because they are not getting what they want from each other they are in pain, hurting and this build-up can make it very difficult to talk about. When emotional needs are not met one of the first things that suffers is 'non-consummation' (the sex life stops) and people grow apart...

Many factors may have evolved over time or have recently impacted the relationship such as 'performance anxiety' in men, a diagnosis of physical illness, surgery, addictions, bereavement, trauma, abuse, the list is long...what is important for couples and individuals to understand is that sexual problems happen in response to something and are NOT usually located solely in the genitals!

If you are affected by any of the above and are either in crisis perhaps going through bereavement, abuse, relationship difficulties, feeling angry or that you have hit that glass ceiling in finding ways forward and out of the rut, a few sessions of counselling can be an excellent investment in personal growth and a way of shifting gear in confronting life's challenges.
