Profile
I offer individual and couples counselling and psychotherapy from my practice in Withyham. We understand ourselves better by looking more closely at the 'what' and 'how' of our actual experience, our feelings, thoughts and sensations and how they relate to what is driving us to be the way we are. My background is Humanistic / Gestalt in orientation, which means that I focus on here and now experience, working to help increase awareness of what our experience is. Through this we can start to integrate all the parts of ourselves towards greater understanding, choice and freedom.
It is the deep pain, hurt, loss or distress behind all the different ways that our "symptoms" show themselves, whether it is Depression or Anxiety or Relationship difficulties, that needs attention and insight in order to be understood and accepted.
I provide Counselling in Sevenoaks, Tonbridge & Tunbridge Wells, Crowborough and Groombrdge areas.

Further Information
Gestalt is a holistic, humanistic approach that focuses on developing our awareness of what is happening in the here and now. It is often our pushed aside hurt, pain or distress that prevent us from being able to be fully who we are.
It is by attending closely to how we are, what is happening in us, how we relate, what our feelings and thoughts are, how our body is and what our reactions are that our self-awareness increases.
This helps to provide the additional information we need to start understanding what is driving us to be the way we are, and with this we can move towards self acceptance, forgiveness, growth and freedom.
