Counsellor Profile

I have set up and delivered a therapy service to over 30 schools over the past eight years. Alongside this I work with adults, children and families from my consulting room in Kingswood, Bristol. I am an integrative therapist, which means that I have extensive training in lots of different forms of therapy and will use the best form of therapy and theoretical background to suit your unique needs as a client. Alongside traditional talking methods, I also use artistic and play techniques if they are appropriate for you.

I also facilitate therapeutic groups and train counsellors and other professionals.

Training, Qualifications & Experience (more info)

I am a member of British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (MBACP) and adhere to their code of ethics and guidelines. I have a Post Graduate Diploma and Post Graduate Certificates in Psychotherapy and a Bachelor's degree in Psychology alongside my Counselling qualifications. I am currently undertaking a Master's degree in psychotherapy.

Over the past seven years as a therapist I have encountered all kinds of people with all kinds of issues, problems, difficulties and distresses. No issue has ever been too big or too small for therapy: anything can be brought to counselling. This is so that you can deal with it in a safe place, drawing on the skills of a professional person to give you insight, and also aid you in coping with your difficulty or in helping you change the aspects that you need to change. This is often not an easy process, it can be painful, stressful and confusing, but also very rewarding in the end, when you have achieved what you set out to do and your life is much easier to live.

What's more: I promise not to judge you or your experiences. I am here to help you, not make you feel awkward or embarrassed.

Please contact me if you would like to discuss the service that I provide, or if you would like to discuss if therapy is the right choice for you.

    Fees

The first session is free. This is so that we can assess your needs as a client, look at what you want from therapy and see if it is appropriate for you. It is also a place where you can meet me and see if I am the right person to work with.

There is no obligation or pressure for a second appointment.

After the initial session, the fee is £30 for a 50 minute appointment, though you can also contact me via email or telephone if you need additional support. This is free. I recommend that you come to therapy each week, and after each 6 sessions, we will review how therapy is going for you.
