Counsellor Profile

Welcome to my profile in Counselling Directory.

I am an experienced, qualified counsellor who carries out one to one, open ended counselling with adults.

I provide a safe, confidential space in which you are able to explore issues and problems which may be effecting how you feel, function and your relationships with others. To be able to explore these issues can allow change and growth to occur.

I am trained in Psychodynamic counselling which concentrates on the relationship between therapist and client to gain insight into unconscious conflicts which have built up since childhood. It allows us to make connections between past events and current feelings which are causing us pain or distress. The work may be short or long term depending on the degree of distress and the requirements of the client.

I work in private practice and also in the NHS.

I have completed an intensive three year professional training at The Manor House Centre for Counselling and Psychotherapy where I graduated with the diploma in "Psychodynamic
Counselling and Therapy in the Community". I also have an honours degree awarded by the University of Reading.

I abide by the Code of Ethics and Practice issued by the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy of which I am an accredited member. I am professionally supervised by a
psychoanalytic psychotherapist who is a member of the United Kingdom Council for Psychotherapy.

There is no fee for the initial assessment as it gives you an opportunity to see whether you are comfortable with me and my way of working.

Fees for subsequent sessions range from £25 to £45 per session and are individually discussed and agreed.

I am able to see a few clients for a nominal fee in cases of financial hardship.
