Welcome to my profile in Counselling Directory.
I am based in Finchley, North London, N3. I am a Psychoanalytic Psychotherapist and Counsellor and have been trained to work on a one to one basis with adults. I am registered with the United Kingdom Council for Psychotherapy and am an accredited member of the British Association of Counsellors and Psychotherapists.
The UKCP is the main regulatory body in the UK for psychoanalytic psychotherapy and the BACP the main professional body in the UK which regulates the counselling profession. It is particularly important that if you are considering psychotherapy or counselling that you should go to a therapist who is properly qualified and trained.
Many people have problems. Anxiety, depression, relationship difficulties or the trials of life may prompt people to come to counselling.
Some people may come because of a major event in their life such as a bereavement, others may come because of a general sense of unhappiness or a feeling of being unfulfilled. Being able to talk to a non-judgemental therapist in a safe environment can be a very therapeutic experience allowing difficulties to be faced and resolved.
Therapy may be helpful to you if you feel you are unable to resolve your problems on your own.
Training, Qualifications & Experience
I have completed a rigorous three year professional training at The Manor House Centre for Psychotherapy and Counselling where I graduated with the diploma in "Psychodynamic Counselling and Therapy in the Community". My training in intensive therapeutic work continued afterwards whereupon I was eligible to become registered with the United Kingdom Council for Psychotherapy as a Psychoanalytic Psychotherapist and am a member of The Forum of Independent Psychotherapists.
I also have an honours degree awarded by the University of Reading.
I abide by the Code of Ethics and Practice issued by the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy and the United Kingdom Council for Psychotherapists. I am professionally supervised by a psychoanalytic psychotherapist who is a member of the United Kingdom Council for Psychotherapy.

Fees
There is no fee for the initial assessment as it gives you an opportunity to see whether you are comfortable with me and my way of working.
Fees for subsequent sessions range from £35 to £50 per session and are individually discussed and agreed.
I am able to see a few clients for a nominal fee in cases of financial hardship.
