Counsellor Profile

My Counselling Practice is based in Overbury, a quiet Cotswold village on the borders of Gloucestershire and Worcestershire. Centrally located, it is within easy reach of Tewkesbury, Cheltenham and Gloucester, as well as Evesham, Ledbury, Malvern and Worcester.

I offer a secure professional setting for Individuals and Couples in a relaxed informal atmosphere, where difficulties can be identified, confronted and resolved in the privacy of regular and reliable sessions.

I have had a broad training in a range of therapies including Person Centred, Psycho-dynamic and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, all of which can be helpful in different ways for different issues.

Sometimes it can be hard to know which style of counselling or therapy would be right for you. My approach is to discover the way which best suits your own individual needs, rather than impose one specific method on everyone.

I have had over 14 years clinical experience working with problems such as anxiety and panic attacks, depression and low self esteem, stress management, anger management, relationship difficulties etc.,

I have been an Accredited Member with the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy since 1996 and gained my Diploma with the Westminster Pastoral Foundation in the same year.

I am a U.K.R.C. Registered Independent Counsellor and a member of the Guild of Pastoral Psychology.

I trained for 5 years with the Gloucestershire Counselling Service and worked for them as a Counselling Member and Assessment worker.

I have a particular interest in the work of the Swiss psychologist C.G. Jung and I underwent a Jungian Analysis as part of my training programme.

Although I work mainly in Private Practice, I also work part time for a Group Practice of General Practitioners in Gloucester and for Dean Close School in Cheltenham.
