Organisation Profile

We provide a flexible service for adult individuals and adult couples on a private basis, ranging from brief counselling to longer term psychotherapy. Clients may be self-referred or referred via outside sources, including other agencies, GP's and employers. We accept referrals on a broad range of issues.

Training, Qualifications & Experience (more info)

Our Head of Counselling, Dr John Davies, personally accepts referrals accross our full service spectrum and is also responsible for initially assessing client suitability for our other counsellors . His initial training was as a dental surgeon, before retraining as a counsellor. He has a Postgraduate Diploma in Integrative Counselling and is an Accredited Member of BACP and adheres to BACP's 'Ethical Framework'. His main approach within an integrative context is cognitive behavioural, but he works flexibly and very much values and integrates both person-centred and psychodynamic models into his approach, using personal construct psychology as his integrative theory. John has recently furthered his training by gaining an MSc in Counselling Studies at Edinburgh University in 2007. As well as working within the private sector, John has several years experience working within an NHS Primary Care Clinic, where he accepted referrals from GP's. He has therefore gained considerable experience working with a wide variety of clients and presenting issues. He also has many years of management experience.

Our other counsellors are trained to Postgraduate Diploma Level and are also members of BACP and adhere to BACP's 'Ethical Framework'.

Fees

Fees range from £30.00 to £40.00 per session, depending on level of counsellor experience. Fees are negotiable.

Extra Information

Our offices are centrally located in Ayr and we have our own car park for the use and convenience of our clients.
