Counsellor Profile

I have been particularly successful in helping couples and individuals resolve relationship problems and also have a special interest in supporting clients dealing with:

• stress and depression
• low self confidence & self esteem
• behavioural difficulties
• bullying issues (whether in school, workplace or elsewhere)
• emotional problems
• change and transition
• conflict situations
• learning and development difficulties
• other relationship issues

I have an integrative approach to counselling and psychoterapy and use non-directive methods in the exploration stage, moving into cognitive behavioural methods in the action stage of the 'Gerard Egan 'model.

I work positively with clients regardless of age, gender, disability, cultural and religious background or sexual preference.

I am married with two teenage children. Before setting up my counselling practice, I was a Head of Year in a College in Hampshire with responsibility for the pastoral care of 320 students. I previously taught in two North London comprehensive schools where I led developments promoting personal, social and health education. I have also provided counselling training for teachers and health professionals.
