Profile

Hello - I am a BACP accredited and experienced counsellor working in the peaceful area of upper St. Thomas in Exeter. I also provide professional supervision to counsellors.

I am aware that it takes courage to start counselling, and aim to help you feel welcomed and supported right from the beginning. As an integrative counsellor I have training and substantial experience in using a wide range of counselling approaches. From these, I create an individual counselling approach which best suits you and your situation.

I sometimes offer creative therapies, on request, to those who would like to use them and feel comfortable to do so. This approach can be helpful when words are not enough - and also for people who want to explore their situation or themselves in greater depth. On offer are outdoor therapy, sand tray, art, writing therapy, clay, visualisation, relaxation work, and many others.

When not working in my private practice, I am a lecturer in counselling for those taking their qualifying counselling training at the Iron Mill Institute in Exeter. As a member of the BACP, I am bound by the BACP Ethical Framework for Good Practice in Counselling and Psychotherapy and subject to its Professional Conduct Procedure. I hold an up-to-date (2010) CRB Enhanced Disclosure (police check).

I welcome informal enquiries, whether about counselling or supervision, and offer an introductory appointment free of charge.

£40 per full hour

I hold a number of concessionary places, details available on request.

Your introductory session, of up to 1 hour, is free of charge.
