Profile
I am senior BACP accredited psychodynamic counsellor and a psychoanalytic psychotherapist registered with the The British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy, the British Psychoanalytic Council and the UKCP. I have a full time private practice based in Wokingham, established in 1994. I have a diploma and MA in Counselling from Reading University and trained as a psychoanalytic psychotherapist with the British Association of Psychotherapists.
I work with individuals either short or longer term, who are experiencing problems with relationships, anger management,depression, anxiety,Post Traumatic Stress, phobias, bereavement, work related problems, low self esteem, lack of confidence, or are experiencing feelings of emptiness or feeling that their lives are meaningless. I have a special interest in working with couples and people with eating problems.
Training, Qualifications & Experience
I initially trained as a Psychodynamic Counsellor at Reading University. I have a diploma and an MA in counselling. This qualified me to work once weekly with clients.
I then trained as a Psychoanalytic Psychotherapists with The British Assocation of Psychotherapists. This is a long and rigorous training and qualifies the therapist to work at a deeper level. This training includes an intensive personal Psychonalysis. This helps ensure that the therapist has achieved a high level of emotional maturity and this in turn is an important safeguard for the protection and wellbeing of the client.
I offer an initial one and a half hour consltation which allows for a full description of your difficulties. I will take a thorough history and this will mean that you will be advised of the most appropriate form of treatment for you. Other forms of treatment may be recommended other than counselling or psychotherapy.

Wokingham is close to the M4 (junction 10) between Maidenhead and Reading. 156 Finchampstead Road is on the A321 about half a mile from Wokingham town centre. The railway station is a fifteen minute walk. There is ample parking.
