Gilla has worked as a psychotherapist and supervisor in mental health settings in the statutory, voluntary and private sectors for many years. She currently works in the Therapy Services of a private psychiatric hospital, where she provides individual and group psychotherapy to outpatients and day patients. She also supervises, trains and consults to hospital staff teams. Gilla is the lead supervisor of a counselling service in North London that works predominantly with refugees and asylum seekers. She is also a member of staff at the Minster Centre.

Gilla has a particular interest in the dynamics of groups and organisations and is a psychotherapist and supervisor in private practice. She is a registered BUPA provider.

She is a member of BACP and registered with the United Kingdon Council for Psychotherapy.
