Counsellor Profile

I work with individuals and couples either short or long term.

My counselling style is that I help facilitate the client's understanding and possibly acceptance of their current situation, as well as supporting the individual or couple with whom I am working.

I always endeavour to work at the client's individual pace and accept that each person is unique.

I work confidentially and in a non-judgemental manner, allowing client's to express and explore their feelings, thoughts and concerns in a safe environment.

Training, Qualifications & Experience (more info)

I have a diploma in counselling and had attended various workshops and groups in a variety of different subjects.

As well as my diploma I hold a certificate in couples counselling.

My experience is varied and have worked with anxiety, depression, sexual abuse, family & relationship difficulties, trauma, loss and bereavment, debt, spiritual matters, low self esteem and have a particular interest in fertility.

I am a member of BAPCA (British Association for the Person Centred Approach) and BACP (British Association for Counselling and Pychotherapists) and work within the ethical framework set out by BACP.

I am also an accredited member of the Counselling Society.

£30 per hour (negotiable for students and people on lower incomes).

Extra Information

In the event that you are uncertain about my background, training or how counselling can assist or support an individual or couple, then I am happy to speak with potential clients and answer any questions.

I usually suggest that after speaking and if agreeable to us both, we can arrange a mutual assessment session in order to ensure that any client(s) are comfortable to work with me, I can answer any questions, can discuss any concerns and ensure that the material to be discussed is within my areas of competency.

For an individual this assessment session is usually 30-45 minutes and there is no charge levied.

For couples the assessment session is usually 1 hour - 1 hour 15 minutes and my usual fee is payable.
