Counsellor Profile

Welcome!

MAKING LIFE WORK and MAKING LOVE WORK form the bases of my work with individuals and couples. My deeply held belief is that we all know what makes us happy and what life we want to lead. My passion is enabling my clients to move towards achieving this. Together, we aim to discover what is standing in the way, what other options are available and how to make lasting changes.

When problems occur in a relationship, communication can shut down and with it, the best hope of finding a solution. My aim with couples, is to support both people as they look for creative, mutually beneficial solutions to whatever difficulties their relationship is experiencing.

I have designed and lead a relationship course for couples who want to build their relationship on mutual respect and an equal balance of power. It's about making love last by providing the tools to help deal with the dangers - both apparent and hidden. It's called 'Sustaining Love after falling in love.'

Drawing on skills from my main and continuous training, I tailor my approach to your specific needs and goals. Both short and long term counselling are offered.

I see all my clients and groups in a purpose built studio. This big, light room makes it a very peaceful environment for clients to deal with their issues or problems, or to learn more about relationships. It has a separate entrance which makes the sessions even more private. There is parking.

Training, Qualifications & Experience (more info)

As a fully qualified and experienced Counsellor I hold a Diploma in Counselling from Bath Centre for Psychotherapy and Counselling (BCPC). My main qualification is in Humanistic and Psychodynamic Counselling. In addition to that I have further training in Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), Solution Focused Therapy (SFT), Meridian Therapies (EFT) and Couples Counselling.

As part of my private practice some clients are referred by GPs and some by Employment Assisted Programmes (EAPs).

I run relationship courses for individuals, couples and groups.

Apart from Sweden where I was born, I have lived in various countries in the world mainly the Middle East and South East Asia. I therefore have a very good understanding about living and working in different cultures and managing change and transition.

As a member of The British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP), I am bound by their Code of Ethics and Practice and have full professional indemnity insurance and am committed to ongoing professional development.
