About me

Counselling can help you to lead your best life

Living life can be complex and it often takes courage to open up to others. Sometimes speaking to friends and family is a good place to begin... and sometimes more is needed. Working with the right counsellor - feeling a connection through being understood - is key.

Take a step towards leading your best life... I am a BACP accredited counsellor with over 15 years' experience, bringing warmth and sensitivity to my work. Please get in touch for professional support around coming to terms with difficult feelings, thoughts and life events.

People who come for counselling are ordinary people who are experiencing life as being painful. This may be due to problems in a relationship, the loss of a loved one, work-related stress, anxiety or perhaps a general sense of unhappiness.

Talking to a trained counsellor is a way of understanding your life and, through this process, starting to think differently, feel differently and choose different behaviours and actions.

Training, qualifications & experience

I hold a Postgraduate Diploma in Psychosynthesis Counselling from The Psychosynthesis & Education Trust, London. This course was accredited by the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP), and validated by the University of East London.

I also integrate some CBT and solution-focused approaches into my work.

I am a Registered BACP Accredited Counsellor (MBACP Accred) and I adhere to the BACP's Ethical Framework for the Counselling Professions.

I have a Diploma in Individual and Group Supervision and a Diploma in Casework Supervision through Cascade Training Associates.

I currently work as a Counsellor at the University of Wales Trinity St David (London campus), as Clinical Supervisor to the Counselling & Wellbeing Service at Kingston University London and as Clinical Supervisor to the counselling service at City Lit, London's largest adult education college.

Registered / Accredited

Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Further information

Psychosynthesis counselling is a holistic approach that seeks to integrate all parts of the personality.

Psychosynthesis has a deeply affirmative perspective and honours each person on his or her journey towards living life more fully.

Together we would look at aspects of your past in order to understand issues you are facing now. Psychosynthesis is also about uncovering a sense of your purpose in life and, going forward, creating a more meaningful life.
