Counsellor Profile

As an Advanced PICT Practitioner I work with adults as well as children and teenagers in helping them to overcome:
· The effects of childhood abuse (sexual, physical and emotional)
· Recent and childhood trauma
· Low self-esteem
· Drug and alcohol abuse
· Eating disorders
· Self-harm
· Phobias
· Stress, anxiety and depression

By working with the client’s unconscious I have successfully guided clients through their belief systems. On identifying mistaken, limiting beliefs the client is then able to change them into positive beliefs, which correctly reflect the person they really are. When the beliefs are changed, the behaviour changes. So many clients come to therapy saying ‘I know I shouldn’t do …’ or ‘I know I shouldn’t feel ...but I can’t help it.’ These clients leave therapy with:

· A sense of having found themselves
· New therapy tools for continued personal growth
· Great relief that the struggle to regain control is over.

Some clients fear that a requirement of therapy is to reveal details of painful trauma. This is not the case with PICT therapy. The trauma is not the point: it’s the resulting emotions and subsequent behaviour that matter. I always endeavour to enable my clients to re-evaluate their lives in a supported and compassionate environment.

Advanced Practitioners Diploma in PICT Psychotherapy from Anglia Ruskin University.
Cognitive Therapy of Personality Disorders also applied, as trained, where appropriate.
ASDAN Trainers Certificate
Licenciate Member of the National Council of Psychotherapy.

I work extensively in schools, Pupil Referal Units and with Social Services but I also run a private clinic in Highbury where I see mostly adult clients. I run workshops for adults, children and families.
