Profile
Many of my clients are professionals who come because they are experiencing anxiety, bereavement, depression, loss, stress or relationship issues. Amongst others, I have worked with many solicitors and teachers. They are often referred by a local GP. Some prefer to self refer as they do not consider their need to be medical.
Some are in emotional crisis and need a safe place with someone who can support and understand them.
Sometimes the stresses of life mean that they are resorting to alcohol more than they would like.
Others might suffer with low self confidence or a lack of self esteem.
Some are facing difficult choices and use the sessions to find what they really want out of life.
As we age, our priorites change. Each decade brings its own issues and dilemmas with it. We often need help during any transitional period.
For those who've never had counselling before, it can be a daunting prospect. Some see it as a sign of weakness. In fact, it takes courage to embark on a course of personal therapy.
Whatever the issues you wish to explore, your concerns would be treated sensitively and respectfully in confidence. You will not be judged but helped to find the answers you are searching for.
I have a designated, therapy room upstairs in my home. Here, you will find respite from the hustle, bustle of the world. It's a place offering safety, confidentiality and quiet. A downstairs room can be made available on request.
Off road parking is provided.
My personal journey of self discovery started about 25 years ago. It led me onto spiritual retreats, workshops and into psycho-analytical therapy. As I became more true to myself, more whole, I decided to train as a counsellor .
I left full time teaching in 2000 to establish myself in private practice offering counselling to individual adults and young people.
