Counsellor Profile

I offer psychotherapy and counselling, both long and short term. I have over 10 years' experience. I see clients living in Winchester, Andover, Eastleigh and other areas of Hampshire.

As a well qualified therapist with 10 years membership of BACP and registered as a Psychotherapist by UKCP, my first most important task is to put you, the client, at ease by helping to allay initial anxieties about seeing a counsellor. By conveying a caring and respectful approach in the comfortable, confidential surroundings of my own therapy room I hope that you will be able to relax and feel understood.

I see counselling therapy as very much a joint enterprise, in which I will use my skills and an approach tailored to your needs to support and enable your finding a resolution to your difficulties and achieving your goals.

Training, Qualifications & Experience (more info)

My voluntary work with an organisation caring for bereaved clients led me into professional counselling training.

I completed my *Advanced Diploma in Counselling* in 1993.

Continuing my voluntary work with bereaved clients and also victims of crime, I simultaneously built up a small private practice. With growing experience I wanted to expand my skills so that I could offer more to my clients. Therefore I engaged in training to become a psychotherapist in order to help with deeper rooted problems which require greater expertise and longer therapy.

1997-2001 - Transactional Analysis Psychotherapy training at the Metanoia Institute.

2003 - Postgraduate Diploma in TA Studies (Middlesex University).

2005 - MSc in Integrative Psychotherapy and registration with UKCP.

I also work as a counsellor with Employee Assistance Programmes.
