Profile
I have trained in a wide variety of "talking therapies" during the last 18 years. My approach to counselling is "keep it simple". Experience suggests that it is the perception of our life and life events that may adversely colour how we see ourselves. One of the main benefits of "talking therapies" may be to allow client's to discover more of who "they really are" and thus see themselves in a more positive light.
I firmly believe that all of us have the potential to lead lives which are happier and more fulfilled. My role as the counsellor is to help client's to achieve the goals, which have brought them into counselling.
My varied training (see qualifications) enables me to integrate different therapy techniques into my work which helps me to be more flexible to my client needs.
In addition, my own time as a client has given me an opportunity to experience the counselling process, which I believe helps me to be more empathic with my clients.
